Tony Jones (1939-2026), originally from Rhosmeirch, and Aloma Jones, from Llannerch-y-medd, met by chance in 1964 on their native Ynys Môn and they went on to perform and record together as Tony ac Aloma. They became one of the earliest successes of an emerging Welsh language pop scene releasing their first EPs in 1968. Their performances together at a hotel in Blackpool, owned by the duo as well as Aloma Jones' husband Roy James, were the subject of a 2012 documentary, Tony ac Aloma: I'r Gresham.
